Kelly- I'm 19 yrs old. I really like to help out the world, one of my goals in life is to open a non-profit organization that will somehow help the world. I want to make a positive impact on the world. I have constantly tried to find things to do that can help the world by doing simple and little deeds around the community. I find it really rewarding to do community service. I just have a lot of ideas. I hope you stay for the rest of the ride!!

Whooping Crane

They are endangered cranes.
There are only about 373 in the wild, and 145 in captivity.
The whooping Cranes are threatened by the destruction of their wetlands, disease and power lines.
Their population has increased somewhat due to conservation efforts.
Considered one of the rarest birds North America.

852 million people across the world are hungry

Everyday almost 16,000 childern die from hunger-related causes---one child every five seconds.

Hunger manifests itself in many ways other than starvation and famine. Most poor people who battle hunger deal with chronic undernourishment and vitamin or mineral deficiencies, which result in stunted growth, weakness and heightened susceptibility to illness.

Countries in which a large portion of population battles hunger daily are usually poor and often lack the social safety nets we enjoy, such as soup kitchens, food stamps, and job training programs. When a family that lives in a poor country cannot grow enough food or earn enough money to buy food, there is nowhere to turn for help.

Over 9 million people die worldwide each year because of hunger and malnutrition. 5 million of those are children

Approximately 1.2 billion people suffer from hunger; deficiency of calories and protein

In UK 30-40% of all food is never eaten and in the last decade the amount of food thrown away went up by 15%.

20 billion euro worth of food is thrown away every year.

Wasting this food leads to enviromental threats and the most dangerous one being that it creates more methane contributing to harm the climate change
